Wildlife, Landscapes, and Geology Book Launch – June 6th, 2024

Dr. Dale Leckie would like to invite you to the Edmonton book launch of “Wildlife, Landscapes, and Geology: An Alberta and Saskatchewan Touring Guide”.

Date: June 6, 7:00 – 8:30

Where: Audreys Books, 10702 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton

For Information https://www.audreys.ca/events

What are people saying about “Wildlife, Landscapes, and Geology”:

  • Alberta and Saskatchewan have a world-wide reputation for their amazing geology and awesome wildlife. Dr. Leckie brings these two branches of natural history together to deepen our understanding and appreciation of what makes these provinces so special.

–      Chris Fisher, author of Birds of Alberta and Mammals of Alberta.

  • Dale Leckie guides us through a fascinating journey with an engaging commentary supplemented with detailed maps and illustrations. Get ready to discover surprising corners of Saskatchewan and Alberta and new ways of looking at familiar places.

–      Robin and Arlene Karpan, authors of Saskatchewan’s Best Scenic Drives.

  • This is a remarkable book that fills a critical gap in Alberta’s nature writing. … This book connects the forces that built and shaped our landscape with the rich diversity of creatures that live in it. I wish I’d had a book like this when I was a young naturalist; I’m delighted to know that others now do!

–       Kevin Van Tighem, author, conservationist, and naturalist.

You can check out “Wildlife, Landscapes, and Geology” at https://brokenpoplars.ca. His previous two books “The Scenic Geology of Alberta: A Roadside Touring and Hiking Guide” and “Rocks, Ridges, and Rivers: Geological Wonders of Banff, Yoho, and Jasper National Parks” were both Alberta best sellers. One of main goals of his books is to get people out exploring and enjoying spectacular natural areas in Western Canada.

Hope to see you at the launch. Spread the word and let your friends know.
